Volyn lies in northwestern Ukraine between the Podillia and Polissia regions. The fertile soils, especially in the South, make it mainly an agricultural region. This region has held on to its traditions and folk culture
The costumes worn here are influenced by the long Polish rule of the area and are highlighted by the swirling men's jackets and women's skirts.
Dances from this region are often polka-like and are couple-oriented. Choreography is generally light and twirling with a good sense of humour.
